Drawbacks / flaws: In case you receive a file, it will be saved in the default directory instead of prompting you to choose the location yourself. Of course, the received files directory can be chosen from the options menu. The Web Calling service is available for long distance calls to only a few countries, but the list is growing. The kernel of the application hasn't changed too much, but it got lots of new online features, that makes it much interactive with the user. I really got a connection problem that was solved automatically online. I was really surprised because in general the troubleshooting button ment nothing to me. A big thumb up for Microsoft in beginning to solve automatically online problems. The second really improvement is the sound quality of PC to PC call. Much better than the one fron Yahoo Messenger. You will get also a very fast and intuitive wizard that will help you set you audio device. The background interface is very similar to the one in Yahoo Messenger, but it will be much better integrated in the new Vista interface. Still let's go back to the new features: - bots service: it's a service provided by virtual users. They are working like small search engines that can be manipulated through the conversation interface. You just have to put the standard questions and you will get the information you need. At this time you can get informations from movies, horoscope, enetertainment gossip, music, encarta. - tabs: these are shortcuts to important services like E-bay, RHAPSODY music provider, MSN Dating & Personals service, MSN Money service, XBOX products and news, MSN Games, alerts service, FOXSPORTS, Theme packs to change the background of the application, MSN Space. - share folders: beside sharing files, if you want to share more than one, you can share a folder. A very practical features which it works very well. I had the feeling that Windows Live Messenger is running slower comparing to Yahoo Messenger, and it might not be so stable. In conclusion it seems that the latest softwares from Microsoft are much better (even though the ideas are taken from different other companies).
